Alastair Currie joins 3S Media as the editor of IMIESA magazine and the managing editor of the company’s Infrastructure brands, which include Water & Sanitation Africa, ReSource and the Infrastructure News website, newsletters and social media platforms.

He is a highly experienced journalist, editor, business manager and media expert with a dedicated focus on the construction, mining and allied industrial sectors.

He began his career in the industry with Primedia Publishing’s Business-to-Business Division in 1995, subsequently moving to Crown Publications in 2002. He joined Barloworld Equipment in 2008 as media relations manager and then as a communication specialist responsible for external and internal communication.

Whilst at Primedia Publishing, Alastair held the following positions: Editor: Construction World (March 1999 to December 2000), Editor: Mining World & Quarrying SA (August 1995 to February 1999), and Business Manager: Construction World, SA Architect, Refrigeration & Air-Conditioning & Hire SA. (March 1999 to December 2000).

Whilst at Crown Publications, Alastair was the editor of Construction World (Jan 2002 to July 2008), Sparks Electrical Contractor (Jan 2002 to Dec 2002), and managing editor of Capital Equipment News (March 2003 to December 2005).

His expertise in business-to-business, custom publications and public relations will now add impetus to 3S Media’s growth plans in the print and digital space.
