The Passenger Rail Agency of South Africa (PRASA) says it notes and welcomes the conclusion and release of the much anticipated Public Protector’s Report into the managerial affairs of PRASA.
“PRASA will be studying the contents of this report over the coming few days and will, at the appropriate moment, communicate its views and related actions,” says Nathi Khena, PRASA Acting Group CEO. PRASA says the report forms part of a range of interventions intended to improve operations at the agency and which place greater emphasis on clean governance.The list of interventions underway includes:
- The findings by the auditor general, which highlights irregular, fruitless and wasteful expenditure
- A skills audit and
- Verification of academic qualifications.
