Hyundai tips bakkie production scale | Infrastructure news

The Commercial Vehicles division of Hyundai Automotive South Africa now assembles and converts the H100 Tipper in Apex, Benoni.

Previously, the tipper was available in restricted numbers, due to the outsourcing of the conversion.

“We recognised the demand for this versatile H100 derivative, and realised that we could create a tipper conversion from the standard drop-side deck in the advanced workshop at our SKD assembly plant in Benoni,” says Stanley Anderson, marketing director of Hyundai Automotive SA.

The tipper’s electrohydraulic lift system is controlled with a switch unit that is connected in the cabin. While the company produces the vehicle on order, a few units are kept in stock at the Apex assembly plant.

The vehicle can be driven with a code 8 driver’s license and comes with the company’s 7-year/200 000 km warranty.
