Environmental scientists are saying that sampling stools could be a faster and cheaper way to pinpoint where Covid-19 outbreaks are brewing, before scores of people become seriously ill. Anthony Turton, from the Centre for Environmental Management at the University of the Free State, says samples are taken from the inlet to wastewater works where raw sewage is mixed. He says sampling can be done on feeder lines from different suburbs.
