Cargo Carriers buys Zambian transporter | Infrastructure news

Logistics firm, Cargo Carriers, has purchased a majority stake of Zambian transport company, BHL. The cost of the purchase is US$2.2million (R18.4 million) with an upfront payment of US$1.5 million and 2 annual payments of US$352000.

Cargo Carriers provides logistics, transport, aviation charter and related information technology services to customers in sub-Saharan Africa.

BHL is based in Ndola, and provides total logistics solutions within Zambia and sub-Saharan Africa to the mining, manufacturing and agricultural sectors.

By purchasing BHL, which is a transporter of commodities such as copper concentrates, lime and sulphuric acid, has enabled Cargo Carriers to take advantage of the mining boom in Zambia.
