E-tolling committee to meet with RFA, Savrala | Infrastructure news

Media shut out from meeting.

The inter-ministerial committee tasked to look into the Gauteng Freeway Improvement Project, chaired by deputy-president Kgalema Motlanthe, will meet with the Road Freight Association (RFA) and the South African Vehicle Rental and Leasing Association (Savrala) on Tuesday afternoon at the Union Buildings.

The media won’t be allowed to attend the meeting and only a photo opportunity is scheduled before the discussions will start.

Sharmini Naidoo, CEO of the Road Freight Association, told Moneyweb that the meeting will be a little different from the first consultation meeting with Business Unity South Africa that took place on Friday.

She said that both government and the organisations will present on the topic of e-tolling the Gauteng freeways, but this time there will be time for a discussion afterwards.

A joint press statement will be released after the meeting, which starts at 14:30.
