The South African Petroleum Industry Association (SAPIA) has acknowledged the findings of the Liquid Fuels Charter audit, commissioned by the Department of Energy in 2010. The outcome of the audit was revealed to media and other stakeholders in a breakfast held at Gallagher Estate Convention Centre this morning.
“We have noted the findings of the Department of Energy,” says Avhapfani Tshifularo, Executive Director of SAPIA. “Once we have had a chance to thoroughly review it, we will engage with the department directly to address any issues.” The charter was drawn up in 2000 and called for 25% black ownership across the value chain within ten years. The audit was done from 2000 to 2010.“SAPIA and its members will continue to collaborate closely with the Department of Energy on all matters related to the Liquid Fuels Charter,” concludes Tshifularo.
