South Africa work for rail consultants | Infrastructure news

A Derby rail consultancy has been appointed to help with a major rail project in South Africa.

Interfleet Technology, which has its headquarters on Pride Park, has been selected to provide support for the Passenger Rail Agency of South Africa (PRASA) on a national project to reinvigorate the country’s rail network and rail industry.

Interfleet will work with the Enterprise Programme Management Office on plans to buy up to 7,200 electric trains in the next 20 years.

The firm will help PRASA compile the technical and maintenance specifications of the trains and advise on the tendering process.
