Increased accessibility to energy efficient motors | Infrastructure news

As a third party channel for ABB, Elquip Solutions is dedicated to bringing this global supplier’s range of high-efficiency low voltage motors to a wider market. By concentrating on the development of a superior distribution network, Elquip Solutions will enable clients throughout the country to access these motors.

“The company placed the largest ever order for stock of ABB high efficiency low voltage motors in South Africa. This strategic move provides the market with instant access to a comprehensive range of products for every conceivable application,” says Mike Cronin, managing director of Elquip Solutions.

“However, we are aware that the ability to afford clients in other centres an equal opportunity to purchase these products is a critical factor in our marketing plan,” Cronin adds.

The company has spent the past few months identifying and securing a growing network of distributors throughout South Africa. “Our primary objective was to appoint companies with a business philosophy that closely mirrors our own. In addition, they were required to have a strong technological knowledge of ABB low voltage motors, accompanied by technical capabilities and experience,” Cronin explains.

ABB offers a wide range of low voltage AC motors with improved energy efficiency and lifecycle value. “ABB has long advocated the need for efficiency in motors, and high-efficiency products have formed the core of its portfolio for many years. The resultant products are characterised by savings in energy, reductions in operating costs, and enabling demanding motor applications to perform reliably and without unscheduled downtime,” he continues.

“Since introducing this range of motors to the company’s product portfolio, the response from the market has been exceptionally promising. As a result we have guaranteed our clients that appropriate stock levels will be maintained within key national areas,” says Cronin. “As new products are added to the ABB offering of high-efficiency low voltage motors, we will ensure that we make them available to our client base.”

“We are currently researching further potential national distributors; and we would welcome enquiries from established companies with the requisite resources, capabilities and experience, in relevant geographical locations. It is our stated intention to provide the widest possible coverage for the ABB high-efficiency low voltage motors,” he concludes.
