A possible end to the transport strike | Infrastructure news

According to the Road Freight Emploeyers Association, a three year wage deal is set to be signed on Friday morning which will hopefully bring an end to the transport strike which has been going on for over three weeks.
“The parties have signed an undertaking that they agree to a three-year industry wage agreement,” spokesperson Magretia Brown-Engelbrecht in a statement.
SA Transport and Allied Workers’ Union (Satawu) spokesperson Vincent Masoga said the union was busy consulting with its members on Friday morning and did not want to divulge details of the agreement.

“There’s a possibility of the strike ending today [Friday],” Masoga said.

This would be a huge relief to the South African economy and the economies of various African countries who trade with SA. It would also be a relief to non striking drivers who no longer have to fear for thier safety as the strike was plagued with violence.
