Graduate development programme

The Imperial Logistics Graduate Development Programme was awarded the Achiever Award for ‘Best Training Programme for a Large Company’, presented this year by BHP Billiton. The award reinforces the success of the programme, which provides graduate achievers with the opportunity to gain hands-on logistics and supply chain management experience.
The annual Achiever Awards recognise companies, government departments and organisations that have shown exceptional creativity, innovation and brought about positive growth in the economy.

There are currently 108 graduates within the Graduate Development Programme, with over 120 having completed the programme since its inception in 2008. Graduates operate primarily in the disciplines of logistics, cost and management accounting (CIMA), industrial engineering, information technology and human resource management.

Tangible career progression through exposure to the industry as part of the group’s member companies provides graduates with an invaluable competitive edge. “We are exceptionally proud of the career progression facilitated by this programme, which has seen top tertiary institution performers’ careers firmly grounded and fast tracked,” said Abrie de Swardt, marketing director at Imperial Logistics.
