Safmarine wins three Hellmann Carrier of the Year awards | Infrastructure news

Shipping line Safmarine finished 2012 on a high note after receiving three prestigious awards from one of its key customers, Hellman Worldwide Logistics. The awards received were the 2012 Hellmann Silver Global Carrier of the Year, the 2012 Europe Regional Carrier of the Year and the 2012 OMEA (Oceania/Middle East/Africa) Regional Carrier of the Year award.

According to Michael Amri, Hellmann Worldwide Logistics vice president, Seafreight, Europe: “Safmarine received this recognition because of its strong and dedicated key account management programme, as well as the good relationship it has established with Hellmann representatives throughout the world. In short, Safmarine understands the Hellmann structure very well and is a deserving winner.

This is not the first time Safmarine has been recognised by Hellmann, according to Stephen Knight, Safmarine’s global head of sales.

“Safmarine received the Hellmann Global Gold Award in 2009 and 2010, and the Global Silver Award in 2011 and 2012. The fact that we have received awards every year for the last four years is proof of the strength of the Hellmann/Safmarine partnership and Safmarine’s commitment to delivering a consistent, high quality shipping service.”

Oliver Nicolaysen, Hellmann vice president, Seafreight, OMEA, paid tribute to the contribution made by Safmarine employees around the world.

“Safmarine, even in times of change and challenges, manages to concentrate on the key aspects of our partnership thanks to its commitment to being the ‘People making the difference.’ I’d like to thank all Safmariners for their hard work, dedication and contribution to the Hellmann/Safmarine partnership and look forward to continuing our partnership and taking it to further heights.”
