Scania Top Team | Infrastructure news

The fourth national Top Team event was held by Scania South Africa to choose the best service team to represent the Southern African region at the regional finals taking place in Sao Paulo, Brazil, on 7 June 2013.

Compliments go to the team from Namibia, which won the Top Team competition and will be representing Southern Africa at the regional finals against teams from Argentina, Brazil, Peru, Uruguay and Dubai. The top two teams from these will then proceed to the world final in Sweden, in November.

The concept behind the Scania Top Team event is that it allows Scania’s service staff the opportunity of developing their skills by combining training and teamwork within a competition environment.

Originally, 19 teams participated in rounds one and two, which consisted of technical and safety questionnaires, and from there the top six teams, each comprising of three to five members, were chosen to compete in the Southern African finals.

At the final, the teams had to compete in four stations for the actual Top Team competition. The competition consisted of three technical fault finding stations and one theoretical station, where they had to answer a 50-question questionnaire. The teams were rotated to the various stations and had a 20-minute time limit to complete at each station.
