Pikitup, City of Johannesburg’s waste management company has informed residents of the South of Johannesburg that the Meredale Garden Site on Byvanger & David Street will be temporary closed, commencing from Monday, 08 April 2013 for duration of 8 weeks.

According to Pikitup, the temporary closure has been necessitated “by the fact that the construction upgrade must be undertaken to improve service delivery to our customers.”

For the convenience of the residents and to curb illegal dumping, the community has been requested to make use of the following alternative garden sites in this vicinity:

1. Mondeor Garden Site
Corner Columbine & Royal Oak
Mondeor
Johannesburg South

2. Mayfield Park
Corner Impala & Duiker
Rietvlei
Johannesburg South

“Following the completion of the upgrade, Pikitup expects an increased response time and the provision of better services to all the residents of this area.
