Smarter Trucking with the RFA convention | Infrastructure news

The Road Freight Association’s 2013 Convention entitled Smarter Trucking, once again afforded transport operators and other key players in the industry the opportunity to share and discuss views. At the same time allowing delegates the opportunity to unwind, enjoy the Kruger National Park or a round of golf at the Hans Merensky Hotel & Spa in Phalaborwa.

Topics discussed by panellists included “Infrastructure Funding – More Taxes, More Tariffs or Privatisation?”; “Fuel Supply” and “Smart Technologies in Trucking”.

Radio personality and author Eusebius McKaiser gave his take on Lonmin – the aftermath and its effects on South Africa; Economist Mike Schussler gave his economic view on South Africa and Joanne Lee Carty from Food & Trees for Africa talked about “Climate Change – an Inconvenient Reality” which gave everyone food for thought on issues pertinent to and affecting the transport sector as a whole.
