Brazil hosts Scania’s Top Team service competition | Infrastructure news

The African, American and Middle East regional round of Scania’s Top Team excellence competition takes place in Brazil on 7-9 June. Participating teams are competing for two spots at the world finals, which take place in Södertälje, Sweden in November.

Scania Top Team is a competition-based training programme for service technicians and parts experts. Competing teams are typically composed of four technicians and one parts expert.

The African, American and Middle East regional round will see competition among teams from Argentina, Brazil, Namibia, Peru, United Arab Emirates and Uruguay. This competition has been developed to continually enhance skills, knowledge, professionalism and teamwork in Scania’s workshops around the world and also helps to attract skilled professionals to the industry.

Christian Levin, Executive Vice President, Sales and Services Management at Scania, says,“The ultimate goal is for Scania workshops worldwide to provide services that support customers’ business. This requires highly proficient service staff. Scania Top Team is a fantastic way of celebrating the brains, technological skills and teamwork that characterise the people who work on the front line every day.”

Scania Top Team has developed from a national training event 23 years ago into today’s global programme. This year’s event is the eighth at an international level and is the biggest yet. An estimated 8,000 participants from over 60 countries will be trained in service-related theory and practice at Scania workshops worldwide.
