Japanese electronics company Toshiba is purchasing a 26% stake in Indian wastewater management company UEM India.
The UEM Group which specialises in providing turnkey services in water and wastewater collection, treatment and disposal facilities brings in an annual revenue of approximately $70 million. The company has executed projects in more than 30 countries across India, Africa, South East Asia, as well as North and Central America.Toshiba’s investment will be infused into the business to drive future growth.
“This is a strategic growth area for Toshiba and we will bring our expertise and global access to the company and learn from UEM’s vast experience in delivering complex, turn-key projects around the world, ”said Toshiba vice-president of the environmental systems division, Naohiro Noro.
