This year’s Sustainability Week offers various investors, businesses and consumers opportunities to learn, share, and help improve environmental and economic performance.
The event, hosted by alive2green,will take place from 17 to 19 June at the CSIR International Convention Centre in Pretoria. Sustainability Week offers a variety of conferences and dialogues for people to take part in: 1. The conference features master classes, technologies and materials, and case studies. 2. Sustainable Energy Seminar
The session explores the idea that every effort should be made to redesign and reconfigure processes to be more energy efficient and reduce peak demand. 3. Sustainable Transport & Mobility Seminar
Local and international experts discuss ways to make public and non-motorised transport more attractive to South African commuters.
4. The Sustainable Water Resource Seminar
Experts present the latest water efficiency technologies and best practice solutions including halting the depletion of existing water resources by cutting wastage and pollution, and finding solutions to silting of dams and algal build up.
The seminar explores the key question “How do we harness the market to a significantly greater degree to drive South Africa towards a green economy?” 6. Vision Zero Waste Conference
The session tackles strategies required to achieve a stepped-up level of recycling in South Africa. 7. Responsible and Sustainable Tourism Dialogue
Experts discuss ways to increase uptake and maximise opportunities within the tourism sector. 8. Food Security
