Upgrades for un-tolled Gauteng roads | Infrastructure news

Upgraded and wider un-tolled roads are in the pipeline for Gauteng.

The N12 and N14 will be widened allowing motorists to use them as an alternative to the tolled M1 and N1 roads.

This was announced by the Gauteng Premier Nomvula Mokonyane during her state of the province address at the opening of the provincial legislature.

A budget of R10 billion has been set aside for the South African National Roads Agency Limited (SANRAL) to upgrade the N12 between Springs and Carletonville and to broaden the N14 from Krugersdorp to Diepsloot.

Other road upgrades include BeyersNaudé and Malibongwe Drives and portions of the Old Vereeniging Road.
