The next monthly Transport Forum taking place at the University of Johannesburg’s Institute of Transport and Logistics Studies (Africa), takes place on Thursday, 8 May.

Topic under discussion is ‘Rail – a key enabler linking South Africa to its markets’.

Guest speakers include Cobus Rossouw, chief integration officer at IMPERIAL Logistics talking about their partnership with Transnet Freight Rail to leverage rail capabilities to benefit South African logistics.

Molatwane Likhethe, assistant to the chief executive officer at Transnet Freight Rail will discuss ‘ Transnet Freight Rail’s R50bn locomotive order from China – The impact on the South African economy’.

The Department of Transport will also talk about ‘Rail gauge and double-stacking update – the impact on the South African economy’.
