Offices have been opened by the Development Bank of Namibia in Walvis Bay to cater for the Erongo region.

Martin Inkumbi, chief executive officer of the Development Bank of Namibia, says, “The Erongo Region, and Walvis Bay in particular, is a gateway to the rest of the country and also contains the largest concentration of mining activities, a key driver for the Namibian economy and development.”

Since 2005 the Development Bank of Namibia has approved N$500 million in finance for projects in the Erongo Region which have created 995 permanent jobs and 1 542 temporary jobs in the process.
