Insurance solutions for transport in Africa | Infrastructure news

With each country having different transport and insurance regulations, expert advice and support is needed to ensure that you have an insurance solution that will provide you with monetary and circumstantial support when things go wrong.
The Allied Africa Broker Network (AAB), has grown significantly since its inception last year. As an integrated network of independent, African-owned and operated brokers, they provide expertise, local understanding and personal relationships to guide risk management in Africa. Currently the AAB has representation in over 12 countries and has over 50 offices across Africa. They are aiming to grow this number to at least 18 members by the end of this year.
“AAB has created an African-based insurance and reinsurance facility for industry sectors such as transport,” says Alan Glen Head of Africa Desk at Indwe Risk Services.
”In terms of fleet management and transport into Africa, there are many insurance challenges as each country has different transport and insurance regulations.”
“If a driver is involved in an accident and gets hurt or killed AAB will assist with the load, the vehicle and provide manpower to solve the situation. The AAB will provide a representative in the country where the accident happened, as it would be necessary to have a local presence and know how to resolve any issues relating to the accident.”
