Farmers have called for more visible policing at rail tracks | Infrastructure news

Farmers have called for more visible policing at rail tracks. That’s after a goods train which regularly collects grain products, derailed due to the theft of rail tracks in the North West this week. Farmers say the theft could jeopardise food security as they also transport produce by rail to local markets and abroad. Transnet says it already spends seven hundred million rand on rail tracks security, across the country.
