Energy solutions provider teams up with boiler firm | Infrastructure news

Energy Partners, an energy solutions provider in South Africa, has announced the majority stake acquisition of local boiler combustion automation and optimisation specialist, Boiler Combustion Technologies (BCT), making BCT an official member of the Energy Partners group.

This collaboration is aimed at increasing Energy Partners’ footprint while simultaneously expanding the BCT service offering to its client base, enhancing its holistic energy solutions.

Established in 2008, Energy Partners provides customised energy solutions across several industries, focusing on food retail, healthcare, hospitality, food processing and logistics.

The Energy Partners divisions include steam generation, renewable generation (Photovoltaic), HVAC (heating, ventilation and air conditioning), and industrial refrigeration services. This acquisition is specifically aimed at expanding the steam generation division.

Karel Cornelissen, CEO of Energy Partners, says that the BCT team is a leader in its field with more than 40 years of experience across South Africa in boiler optimisation.

“We wanted to combine their expertise with our energy intelligence and financing capabilities to offer steam outsource solutions to a wider market.”

The acquisition with BCT will optimise the company’s steam generation division to provide both client bases with the added value of combined expertise. “By increasing the level of specialised skills in each division, we can better ensure optimal efficiency and industry-leading solutions.”

BCT was founded in 2006 by its two directors, René and Jean le Roux, both of whom are qualified mechanical engineers. BCT will remain under management of its current founders and directors, with Energy Partners providing a hands-on sales programme and strategic support services.

Le Roux says that while BCT holds specialised expertise in the steam generation field, holistic energy solutions are the way forward to successfully meet the needs of corporate South Africa.

“We are excited to merge with a well-established holistic energy solutions provider such as Energy Partners and believe this endeavour will be mutually beneficial for the company and clients alike.”
