The top 5 to increase fleet capacity | Infrastructure news

The top five companies with regards to fleet capacity expansion for 2014 are Maersk, CMA CGM, MSC, Hapag-Lloyd/CSAV and Evergreen.

According to World Maritime News, Maersk had the largest increase with capacity growth of 318 000 TEU, which was an increase of 12% on its fleet capacity.

In second place was CMA CGM, with a reported fleet growth of 9%, or an increase of 139 000 TEU.

Third place went to MSC, which increased its operating capacity by 168 000 TEU, a 7% rise from 2013.

The fourth place in terms of fleet capacity was claimed by Hapag-Lloyd/CSAV, which recently merged, followed by Taiwanese liner Evergreen in fifth place.
