Rusumo One Stop Border Post is launched | Infrastructure news

According to the Rwandan Minister of Infrastructure, James Musoni, the recently opened Rusumo One Stop Border Post in eastern Rwanda will unlock business opportunities for the country and also boost intra-regional trade.

Musoni was speaking at the official launch of the Rusumo International Bridge and OSPB in Ngoma district on Saturday, 10 January.

He was quoted by Xinhua news agency as saying: “This is quite an important milestone towards facilitating regional trade, and with Rwanda being a land-locked country, this is an opportunity for us to increase trade exchanges with our neighbours and other countries that connect us to the sea.”

The project included the construction of the new two-lane Rusumo International Bridge and other facilities such as the administration building which comprises a control shed for vehicle control purposes, guard quarters and car park for large vehicles.
