According to Carlos Mesquita, Mozambican Minister of Transport and Communications, work to increase the freight transport capacity of the Sena railway line is nearing completion.
He was quoted by Macauhub.com, as saying that the government was working hard to ensure that mining companies would be able to transport coal mined in the Moatize coal basin.The line which runs between Moatize and the port of Beira is being upgraded to address complaints from mining companies that feel that a lack of access roads for coal transportation is affecting business.
