A Metrobus has crashed off of the Queen Elizabeth Bridge near Biccard Street in Braamfontein, Johannesburg this morning.

The bus driver reportedly lost control of the bus, which resulted in the accident.

It was reported that there was nobody in the bus apart from the driver who has been extracted by rescue personnel and transported to a private hospital in Johannesburg.

The bus is currently hanging over the bridge, standing in an almost vertical position.

The street is currently closed to traffic due to the inherit danger to motorists as a result of the hanging bus.
