The Mahikeng Provincial Hospital in the North West, is on the verge of collapse. Its unable to provide surgical operations.

The equipment here has not been serviced for three years and there is also a dire shortage of medicines.

Government says it has secured R750 million to address health infrastructure backlogs in the Province. Provincial authorities are calling on assistance from national government in addressing the problems in the province.
