Twenty-five million tons of the world’s plastic pollution ends up in the ocean every year.
An international foundation, Race for Water, is currently on a world wide scientific expedition to put together the first global assessment of plastic pollution.In collaboration with various United Nations environmental programmes, the Race for Water Odyssey has traveled over 40 thousand nautical miles. The team stopped over in Cape Town on Tuesday.
