Historic housing project launched in Mount Pleasant | Infrastructure news

A historic housing project was launched, by the Western Cape Provincial Minister of Human Settlements Bonginkosi Madikizela in Mount Pleasant, in the Overstrand Municipality this week.

This development involves two sites (Cemetery Site and Sportsfield Site) which are both located on the Remainder of Erf 243 in Mount Pleasant, Hermanus.

The sites are situated within the urban edge and very centrally in the residential area of Mount Pleasant, within the greater Hermanus area, and therefore within walking distance to social and economic facilities.

This development is representative of the departments mandate to deliver integrated and sustainable human settlements in which beneficiaries have access to the resources they need in order to thrive in life.

The total infrastructure costs for the development of the 172 sites amounted to over R7 Million while the total project costs for the 172 homes amounts to over R20 Million.
