A multi-billion rand water supply scheme has been launched in Mandeni on the KwaZulu-Natal north coast to mark World Water Day.
It will supply over 750 thousand people with clean drinking water in water scarce areas. The area was the scene of violent service delivery protests that saw four factories burnt down.
