The City of Ekurhuleni has officially launched the Night Shift CBD Cleaning Programme aimed at keeping the city’s streets spotless for 24 hours

The City of Ekurhuleni has officially launched the Night Shift CBD Cleaning Programme aimed at keeping the city’s streets spotless for 24 hours.

The programme was launched on Monday 11 April 2016, by Ekurhuleni Executive Mayor Councillor Mondli Gungubele as part of the Mayoral Clean City Programme.

The project has so far created new permanent job opportunities for 80 people according to Themba Gadebe Spokesperson for the municipality.

“The eight hours’ night shift programme is set to alleviate the scourge of dirt blanketing in the City’s CBD’s and to improve its look and feel through intensive street cleaning and litter picking,” Gadebe said.
