Millions of people across Africa are currently suffering from one of the worst droughts in history.

Every few years the world experiences an El Niño, whose recurring weather pattern causes huge swathes of warming across land and sea.

Experts now believe that climate change has made this year’s El Niño the strongest and most destructive on record.
