Shell presents new-look Rimula range | Infrastructure news

Shell presented its revised Rimula range of heavy duty diesel engine oils, complete with packaging tweaks, to the media this week.

Rimula incorporates the company’s Dynamic Protection Plus Technology (DPPT) which, according to Shell, provides all-weather protection, long oil life, extended oil drain intervals and longer engine life. It is also said to reduce maintenance and fuel costs for reduced total cost of ownership.

Rimula R6 lm 10W-40 is fully-synthetic oil with the company’s PurePlus Technology, which converts natural gas into crystal-clear base oil.

“The latest innovation enables Rimula R6 LM to offer up to 53% better protection against engine wear and deposits – especially cam wear – and up to 45% lower oil consumption,” explains Anton Niemann, general manager of sales: commercial lubricants at Shell.

Shell says the oil’s upgraded CJ-4 specification exceeds ACEA, MAN and Mercedes-Benz specifications for engine wear and cleanliness and that its SAPs formulation reduces downtime from clogging of diesel particulate filters.
