Shirley Duma joined Barloworld Logistics as Human Resources Executive in 2014.
In July 2016 she was appointed to the Barloworld Logistics Africa Board. Shirley has 20 years of experience in the public, private and philanthropic sectors across various functions including strategic planning, programme management and human resource management.Born in South Africa, she moved with her family to the United States and earned a bachelor’s degree in anthropology and sociology from Mills College and a master’s degree in industrial sociology from California State University, Sacramento.
After working extensively in the United States in public health and policy she re-located to South Africa in 2005 and joined a major construction company where she held various positions in human resources during a period of nine years. Shirley is passionate about enabling high performance in people and organisations, promoting an inclusive economy and making positive, sustainable contributions to society.
