An Institutional Stakeholder Dialogue is on the programme for the closing of the 2016 IMESA Conference & Exhibition.
The dialogue will be moderated by Danai Magugumela, MD of Bosch Projects, with panellists drawn from key institutions and federations including CESA, WISA, SARF, SAFCEC, SAICE and others with an interest in municipal engineering. According to Oliver Ive, Chairman of the 2016 Technical Advisory Committee, the topic of the panel discussion will be ‘The role of the engineering institutions for future development through skills enhancement and improved policy and regulatory frameworks.’ He adds, “This is a unique opportunity for our engineering institutions to publicly highlight the problems and solutions to issues influencing the future of the municipal engineering environment.” Panelists will be asked to inform the municipal engineering community of their activities and plans for:- Education, training and development of municipal engineering professionals
- Influencing the alignment of public sector policies and regulations, including procurement, infrastructure funding, operation and maintenance, construction and environmental regulations
