South Africa tackles acid mine drainage to secure water for 30 years - Infrastructure news

The Eastern Basin’s acid mine drainage treatment plant was officially launched by the Department of Water and Sanitation Department last week. The plant, which is the largest of its kind in the world, pumps approximately 110ML of water per day.

Being a water scarce country that is currently battling a severe drought, this is one of government’s attempts at trying to mitigate the pollution of underground water sources.
