Eskom implements rotational loadshedding due to labour unrest - Infrastructure news

Eskom has confirmed that Stage 1 rotational loadshedding will take place on Tuesday evening from 5pm to 9pm.

This comes as a result of industrial action which continues to impact operations at the utility’s sites.

Eskom says it has sought the services of the Commission for Conciliation, Mediation and Arbitration (CCMA) to facilitate the engagement between the organisation and union leaders to resolve the impasse.

“We are hopeful that all parties will put South Africa first as we endeavour in finding an amicable solution.”

Meanwhile, the South African Police Services has been mobilised to maintain order and enable safe access to power stations as these are National Key Points.

“We encourage residents and businesses to please use electricity sparingly to ease the demand of electricity. Thank you to all South Africans for your co-operation and understanding,” the utility adds.
