GOING GREEN: Transport sector VS total Greenhouse Gases | Infrastructure news

In South Africa, transport currently accounts for 10,8% of the country’s total Greenhouse Gases (CHG), of which 91,2% is from road transport.

Aim, from now, to convert 5% of the public and national sector fleet in the first five years to cleaner alternative fuel and efficient technologies vehicles, ideally powered through renewable energy.

The Department has been collaborating with car manufacturers such as Toyota, BMW, Nissan, and Sasol to promote efficient vehicle technologies such as hybrid and electric vehicles.
