Continuous illegal dumping troubles George Municipality | Infrastructure news

The George Municipality is at its wits’ end with what it says is continuous illegal dumping at the entrance to one of its popular parks.

The municipality says that despite the fact that there is regular municipal waste collection service in the area there are people who continue to dump their waste at the entrance to Van Riebeeck Gardens in Camphersdrift Street.

“This habit is unexplained as there is a weekly waste disposal in the area,” it notes. The municipality adds that it is currently investigating the recent incident of dumping.

“A car wash slip with a Mossel Bay registration number was found between the garbage and the law enforcement unit is working on it,” the municipality explains.

The municipality is urging all residents to report any illegal garbage disposal or dumping to its Cleaning and Law Enforcement units.
