KZN Branch: National Women’s Day 2025 – Social Media Takeover - Infrastructure news

This August, the Water Institute of Southern Africa (WISA) is doing something bold, beautiful, and deeply personal in honour of National Women’s Day 2025 – and you are invited to be a part of it.

For the first time ever, WISA is hosting a Social Media Takeover – and it’s all about celebrating the stories, strength, and spirit of women in the water sector and beyond.

While we may not all be in the same room, our voices can still come together online in powerful ways. Let’s fill our feeds with messages of resilience, courage, leadership, and hope – stories that celebrate the incredible women who shape our lives, our industry, and our country.

How You Can Join the Movement

Whether you’re a woman working in the water sector, a student inspired by a female role model, or a man who wants to honour the women who’ve impacted your journey – this campaign is for everyone.

Here’s how to get involved

  • Snap a photo (up to 5!) of yourself holding up a sign with an inspirational message for women. It could be a quote you love, a piece of wisdom from your own life, or a tribute to someone who’s made a difference.
  • Prefer video? Submit a short video clip (5 seconds max) sharing your message instead.
  • All styles welcome! Keep it artsy or keep it simple – black & white, colourful, filtered or natural. No need for perfection – just make sure the photo is clear (wipe those lenses, folks!).
  • Feature your crew. Go solo, include friends or family, or get your colleagues involved – the more, the merrier!
  • Yes, men too! We encourage men in the industry to join in and celebrate the women who’ve made an impact in their lives.
