Call for Wastewater Technology Providers to Support South Africa’s Sanitation Future | Infrastructure news

South Africa’s sanitation sector is evolving – and innovative onsite wastewater solutions are needed now more than ever. The Water Partnership Office has issued a Request for Information (RFI) calling on technology developers, solution providers, and service companies to participate in the creation of a national database of onsite greywater, blackwater and decentralised wastewater treatment technologies.

The initiative aims to identify proven technologies and services that support water reuse, sludge management, energy recovery, and sustainable sanitation across a wide range of applications – from informal settlements and schools to eco-estates, housing developments, and commercial precincts.

Companies operating in or outside South Africa are encouraged to submit information on tested, piloted, or implemented solutions, as well as short- and long-term service offerings.

By contributing to this database, stakeholders can help unlock the full potential of South Africa’s sanitation systems while supporting future infrastructure planning, innovation, and water resilience.
