The world stands at a critical crossroads regarding water security. As the African Union declares 2026 the Year of Water, the focus shifts toward placing water security at the heart of the continent’s development.

We are excited to announce the 2nd AWSISA Africa & Global South Water and Sanitation Dialogue 2026. This premier event brings together policymakers, researchers, and industry leaders to tackle shared realities like water scarcity, rapid urbanisation, and infrastructure deficits.

Call for Abstracts

Are you a researcher or practitioner with innovative solutions? We invite you to submit abstracts addressing our core themes, ranging from Climate-Resilient Infrastructure to Digital Transformation and Circular Water Economies.

Submission Requirements:

Please submit your abstract of not more than 300 words and include up to 5 keywords online via the Google link: https://forms.gle/2TJUeTjHjenH1tqC6

  • Review Process: All abstracts will undergo a peer-review by two referees.

Important Dates to Remember

  • Call for Abstracts Opens: 1st May 2026
  • Deadline for Submission: 30th June 2026 (23:59hrs GMT)
  • Acceptance Notification: 15th July 2026
  • Full Paper Deadline: 15th August 2026

Student Support Programme

In partnership with the Water Research Commission (WRC), we are offering a support package for 10 selected students registered at South African institutions. This package includes full registration, travel, accommodation, and a stipend.

Selection is based on the quality and relevance of your abstract.
