A new multi-disciplinary consulting engineering powerhouse | Infrastructure news

Three companies have joined forces to form the Nako Group, the first African-owned, multi-disciplinary consulting engineering powerhouse.

The Nako Group will actively pursue contracts across Africa to deliver a range of specialised world-class engineering services. The group was born out of a long-term partnership between ILISO Consulting, Lategan Bouwer Engineers and Triocon Consulting Engineers.

Felix Fongoqa, Executive Chairperson of ILISO Consulting and Executive Chairperson of the Nako Group, says engineering is key to the opportunities for extensive infrastructure development across the African continent. “We believe the time has come for us to demonstrate that we can do things for ourselves as Africans, and take on the challenge to build a global giant out of Africa,” says Fongoqa.

The Nako Group specialises in a number of different engineering disciplines and has collaborated with strategic partners from various countries – including Botswana, Namibia, Nigeria, Uganda and Zambia – in order to deliver sustainable engineering solutions that are tailor-made for the African landscape.

Reflecting on the formation and philosophy of the new group, Fongoqa says, “We look forward to taking Africa to new heights with our world-class engineering and project execution skills.”
