New Midrand head office for multinational corporation | Infrastructure news

A European multinational energy supply corporation has begun construction of a new head office in Waterfall City, Midrand.
According to a press release submitted by Schneider Electric, this construction follows the opening of a 12 000 square meter premises, also in Midrand, and demonstrates their commitment and long term investment into the Southern African region.
Waterfall City is a major development in Midrand, along the N1, that is said to be the future CBD of the city.
Earthworks on the new 4 000 square metre, three storey building on the 14 869 square metre site have already begun, and the new building is being developed to be energy efficient. The architechture aims to create an atmosphere conducive to enhancing greater collaboration, productivity and motivation among staff.

Chairman and CEO, Jean-Pascal Tricoire, senior vice president for Africa and the Caribbean, Mohamed Saad, and country president for Southern Africa, Eric Leger, marked the start of construction at a celebratory soil turning event, together with representatives from Atterbury Property Holdings, developers of the new head office.
This follows the company’s investment in a 12 000 square meter premises, which was opened last year, also in Midrand, which is home to their manufacturing operation, its mining team which services the whole of Africa, its Sustainability Development business unit and Low Voltage Electrical Distribution division, as well as their Academy and data-centre consolidation initiatives.
