The industrial precinct of Cape Town International airport seems an unlikely location for one of Africa’s most revolutionary hotels.

Since opening in 2013 the aptly named Hotel Verde has received numerous Awards and accolades and now proudly calls itself “Africa’s Greenest hotel”.

The Hotel was awarded a 6 Star rating by the Green Building Council of South Africa.

It has also just been awarded a second LEED Platinum, Green Building Certification, making it the first hotel globally, to achieve a double Platinum certification for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, take a look at this clip.
