The City of Tshwane is gearing up to build low cost rental units for people earning between R2500 and R7500 near the CBD.

This as the City turned the sod for the construction of 900 unit social housing project consisting of one, two and three bedroom units.

Tshwane Mayor Kgosientsho Ramokgopa says the project will reverse the apartheid legacy of placing blacks in the periphery of the city centres.
