Construction of the bulk water supply from the Nandoni Scheme to the Giyani Water Works is set to resume following a legal battle between Lepelle Northern Water and Esor Construction.
Honourable Justice Fabricius ruled in the High Court that the project for bulk water supply and revitalisation should proceed without any hindrances after striking off the urgent applications launched against Lepelle Northern Water by Esor Construction. According to Lepelle Northen Water, Esor Construction pursued legal action after interdicting a tender project relating to supply of water that was awarded to Vharanani Properties by Lepelle Northen Water.“Their reasons to launch a court interdict was concerning appointment and requested information about LNW bid document through the PAIA. As a law abiding institution, we have furnished them with every detailed of information they have requested hence we are utterly happy to be given the green light to proceed with the project [sic],” Lepelle Northen Water said in a statement.
“We are very delighted to welcome the positive ruling from the High Court for clearing up the matter. We believe the outcomes were taken in the best interest of the community. We shall begin with our mandate of providing bulk water to our stakeholders. We further urge people to use water sparingly.”
