Phase two water restrictions were implemented in the city of Johannesburg and towns in other parts of Gauteng, such as Hammanskraal had to deal with sewage in their tap water.
Environmental adviser and professor at the centre for environmental management at the University of the Free State, Anthony Turton, discusses how the country got to this point and also highlights possible policy and household interventions that may be used to help solve the crisis.Turton also says that SA’s water crisis may only end in 2025.
